Dr. Robert Muharremi serves as our CEO, bringing a wealth of expertise and leadership to our organization. In his role as Assistant Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Kosovo and Director of the RIT Kosovo Center for Peace & Conflict Studies, Dr. Muharremi lectures International Law & Organizations, International Relations, Human Rights, and Law & Society.
With a multi faceted background, Dr. Muharremi has advised various international organizations and government institutions in Kosovo, showcasing a deep understanding of the complexities of both public and private sectors. His extensive experience as legal counsel in the private corporate and public-private partnership sector further enhances our strategic approach.
Dr. Muharremi's commitment to public service is evident through his advisory roles in key government offices, including the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry ofForeign Affairs, and the Ministry of Justice. His active involvement in numerous policy and legislative activities underscores his dedication to shaping a favorable business environment.
A member of the Albanian Branch of the International Law Association, Dr. Muharremi upholds international legal standards and contributes significantly to the advancement of knowledge in areas such as international law, international justice, and public policy.
With a doctorate in law from the University of Saarland (Germany) and a Master of Science degree in public policy and management from SOAS/University of London (UK), Dr. Muharremi seamlessly combines academic rigor with practical insights. As our CEO, he plays a pivotal role in steering the company towards success in the dynamic landscapes of Kosovo and the Western Balkans region.
Dr. Bernard Nikaj is one of the founding Board Members of Newgen Advisory Group. He is the former Ambassador of Kosovo to Belgium and Luxembourg and Head of Kosovo Mission to the European Union and NATO.
He was the Minister of Trade and Industry at the Government of Kosovo during which time he led Kosovo’s Trade negotiations as part of the Stabilization Association Agreement (SAA) negotiations between Kosovo and the European Union. Prior to this he has worked for the Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Minister of Trade focusing on issues of trade relations, industrial development, business environment reforms and foreign direct investment. He has more than fifteen years’ experience working on development projects in Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia and the Kyrgyz Republic focusing on public financial management, social sector reform, economic development, and public administration reforms.
He currently teaches International Politics at RIT Kosovo and holds a PhD from the University of Maastricht and a MSc from the London School of Economics (LSE).
He has been awarded British Foreign Office Chevening Scholarship for his masters studies, Netherlands Fellowship Award (NFP) by the Government of Netherlands for his PhD studies and has spent a semester as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of California at Berkeley. He is also FCO International Leaders Program (ILP) Alumni.
Dr. Petrit Gashi is one of the founders of Newgen Advisory Group. He holds a PhD in economics from Staffordshire University, UK. Currently, he teaches International Economics and Natural Resources Economics at the Faculty of Economics, University of Prishtina. His research on trade, industrialization, and the privatization process has been published in Small Business Economics, Applied Economics, and Eastern European Economics.
Between 2015 and 2018 he served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Privatization Agency of Kosovo.
For over a decade he has been supporting the Government of Kosovo in areas of trade policy, trade facilitation, cross-border cooperation, institutional development, trade legislation, FDI, human resources, and digital economy.
As a Fulbright fellow, in 2011, he spent six months at Indiana University, School of Public and Environmental Affairs. In 2021, he was awarded a CERGE EI Foundation teaching fellowship.
